There is no better way to treat your children at the dinner table than to serve them something special. As we all lead a very busy life these days, not all of us get the liberty of spending some quality time with our family. However, if you served something special for supper, at least at the weekends, if you don’t get time to cook dinner every night.
So if you were getting ready for a homely treat this weekend, there won’t be anything to beat some mouth-watering cheese and bacon lasagna. Here is what you need to do to prepare the recipe,
Ingredients Required
- Onion – 3 (large, thinly sliced)
- Olive oil – 3 tbsp
- Oregano – 1 tsp (dried)
- Lean smoked bacon – 300 g (chopped)
- Tomatoes in rich juice – 2 cans
- Basil leaf – 20 (roughly torn)
- Fresh egg lasagna – 250 g
- Milk – 600 ml
- Butter – 50 g
- Parmesan – 50 g (grated)
- Salt and Pepper – to taste
How to Prepare
First, you will need to prepare the white sauce for the recipe. For that, pour the milk in a pan and add in the butter and flour. Put the pan over medium heat, and whisk evenly to mix the flour well, and avoid any lumps in the sauce.
Cook for 5 minutes and season with salt and pepper. Keep the white sauce aside for later use, and put another pan on the stove.
Pour some oil in the pan, and fry the onions until they turn golden brown. After 15 minutes, add the oregano and bacon to the pan and cook for another 5 minutes. When done, remove from the stove and mix in the basil leaves.
Prepare the lasagna dish with one-third of the tomato sauce, and lay the lasagne sheets over it. Top it with the onion and bacon mix, and lay another sheet of lasagna, topping with the remaining tomato sauce.
After that, pour the white sauce over it and sprinkle some cheese on top. Bake the lasagne mixture in the oven for 5-10 minutes or until the cheese melts. Serve hot.
